Application Process Overview

Step 1 - Click here to apply (upload a resume or answer a few questions).

We want to make this step easy.  We just need to know if you have or have not completed any formal education, where you went to college, which degrees you have achieved, and we want to know about any work experience.  Some of our best trainees have backgrounds in serving, bartending, retail, or absolutely no work experince at all.  Don't feel like you need to pad your resume.  A LinkedIn profile will also suffice.  New trainees are the lifeblood of our company, and we are on your side in this application process. 

Step 2 - We Will Review and Contact You

We are going to text or email you with additional questions - please check your spam, junk, or clutter folders.  It usually takes us 24 to 48 hours to reply.  Everyone gets a reply.  If you are not a fit for QED, we will let you know.  Didn't hear back within 48 business hours?  Feel free to call the office to check on the status of your application.

Step 3 - Test, Interview, Official Documents

Once we review your background, there are a few final steps before admission into the QED Career Launchpad Program. If you make it to this stage, there is a very strong chance you are being seriously considered for admission.

Please remember that every interaction with QED is part of the interview process. If you are invited to our office, we encourage you to dress professionally and present your best self.

 The last things we need before we can admit you are the following:

• Take and Pass the QED Potential Test

The test is just as much for you as it is for us.  Historically, people that hate the test hate the job.  People that don't mind the test and get a high score have a high potential for enjoying a fulfilling career as a reservoir engineering technician.  We recommend you study as it has likely been a few years since you took an 8th grade math test.  The study guide is here.  

• Submit copies of all transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable)
• Provide a current resume in Microsoft Word format
• Respond promptly to communication from the QED team by phone or email
• Participate in an in-person interview if invited, usually on test day but may be scheduled for a later date

Again, before scheduling to take the QED Potential Test, we recommend downloading the study guide here.  The test will take approximately two hours to complete.  The test is proctored at our Houston office located at 5995 North Barkers Landing Road, Suite 307.  Remote testing is not routinely available.  Please do not come to the QED Offices unless you have a scheduled and confirmed appointment.
